National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) is one of India’s premiere institutions that propagates discourse and showcases performing arts. Among its founding partners were Sir Dorabji Tata Trusts. To commemorate NCPA’s five decades, a four-day programme showcasing the best in theatre, music and dance was organised from November 28 to December 1.
Attending the festival were students and their teachers from the Inspire India Programme. Inspire India Programme is a community music initiative developed by Shankar Mahadevan Academy in collaboration with Tata Trusts, for children and young people from the Dharavi precinct. Active learners of Hindustani classical music and instruments like the guitar and piano, the students, immersed themselves in the ‘Morning to Dusk’ programme of Indian classical music and dance.
